One of the unique ‘flavors’ of The Elysian is Chef Banjar who can be found on most days in the Rush Bamboo Restaurant serving up magnificent delicacies.
The first factor which will strike you concerning Chef Banjar is his easy going demeanor, but then again, Chef is Balinese and this is a typical characteristic among Balinese. Chef Banjar has a penchant for food and came to our Private Bali Villa immediately after honing his competencies in the Hilton and as Sous Chef for the Sofitel. But beyond that, Chef has completed Tourism, Luxury, Communication, Corporate and Food Safety training.
Quite apart from his specialized competencies, Chef genuinely enjoys taking native delicacies, promoting the flavors and enriching the overall presentation. To this extent, the artistically proficient Balinese can make the simplest of foods to appear as culinary masterpieces. A good example of Chef’s competencies can be sampled in the Megibung dinner.
It is true that attractiveness lies in the straightforward points in life and Megibung is a Balinese tradition of sharing. Chef Banjar has been able to consider this simple fact and afterwards enhance the flavors and to further encourage the senses.
